An Ordinary Man: #33 Waterless Spring

False teachers always tell us what we want to hear, but Christ tells us what we need to hear. In 2 Peter 2:17, we’re warned that false teachers are like springs without water—offering hope but leaving only emptiness, leading ultimately to “blackest darkness.” By contrast, Jesus speaks hard truths that cut to the heart: exposing sin, hypocrisy, and our need for a Savior.
In this message, we see why running from Christ’s authority only leads to despair, while submitting to His authority brings life, beauty, and safety—like a hen protecting her chicks or a shepherd guarding his sheep. The choice is clear: follow false teachers into empty promises, or follow Christ into rest for our souls.
